Spatial inequality in safely managed water access in Ghana

Abstract This paper examines inequalities in drinking water access among regions and between urban rural areas Ghana with a focus on to safely managed service, safe water, premises, sufficient quantities of improved water. Microdata the 2017/18 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey was used analyzed using descriptive statistics Gini index. Nationally, service low (6.8%) moderate inequality (Gini index = 0.27) high 0.42). Among 10 administrative regions, recorded for premises 0.20), 0.117), (0.06), (0.02). The results study reinforce call by United Nations disaggregation national data Sustainable Development Goals relevant socio-economic spatial variables at subnational level help design implementation inclusive equitable policies.
